At Bisson, we take great pride in our full range of life safety products of the highest quality and our ability to deliver this entire range worldwide through our network of established transport links.
Our complete range of life safety products are manufactured at Bisson’s state of the art production facility in Bristol, in the South West of England. Bisson uses virgin ABS raw materials to produce the highest possible quality consistency, and the full range of pipe and fittings are available in three colours, red in 25mm and 27mm and white and grey in 25mm. Bisson holds the certificate of quality EN54 part 20 which is particularly important for our European clients.
Bisson is excited to present our new range of products in PVC, we have invested heavily in a range of moulding tools specifically for PVC, and made the necessary changes to our pipe extrusion equipment. We offer product of the highest possible quality of 100% virgin raw material, (no regrind being added) with the advantage of the European certificate of quality EN54 part 20.
Whilst our existing range of ABS products are generally preferable in most installations, PVC offers an alternative for certain projects, and is widely used in a number of EU markets including Germany, the Netherlands & Poland, as well as the middle & Far East.
It’s available in 3 colours, red, 25 & 27mm, and grey and white in 25mm, with the recent supply issues surrounding ABS, and no long term clarity, the PVC range has been added to a number of our key clients product portfolio’s.
Key differences that exist between the two polymers, which are as follows:
Temperature variance
ABS from -40 up to 70 degrees C
PVC from -20 up to 60 degrees C
Burning characteristics
ABS burns when held to a flame and continues when the flame is removed
PVC burns when held to a flame, but self extinguishes when the flame is removed
PVC gives off Hydrochloric acid fumes when burnt which can be hazardous to health.
Exposure characteristics
PVC is more resistant to sun light than ABS, unless specific additives have been used. Hence they are widely used in sunny climates such as the Middle & Far East.
The complete range of PVC products mirror exactly our ABS range, we would be delighted to send a range of samples for consideration, and answer any questions that you may have.
We have EN Certification for our new PVC range
