Established in 2002, Bisson is the leading manufacturer and supplier of pipes and fittings for aspirating smoke detection systems for the worldwide fire trade.

The complete range is manufactured at our state of the art production facility in Bristol in the South West of England using virgin ABS raw materials to produce the highest possible quality consistency. We have also recently launched a range of aspirating pipe using virgin PVC raw material and we will be launching a range of PVC fittings in the coming months.

Bisson holds the certificate of quality EN54 part 20 which is particularly important for our European clients. We are able to deliver our entire product range worldwide through our network of established transport links.

Bisson manufactures a range of life safety products and we pride ourselves on our ability to ensure that the quality of this range is unparalleled and is of the highest possible quality on a daily basis. We achieve this level of quality through the complete traceability systems that we have in place, with the ability to monitor production from raw materials through to the finished product.

We offer a full range of pipe and fittings which enable us to be the perfect partner to any smoke detector manufacturer be it Xtralis, Wagner, Securiton or Faast. We offer our range of products in three colours – red in 25mm and 27mm and white and grey in 25mm.

We have achieved our unrivalled success through a large capital investment in the business in the recent years. Our new purpose built manufacturing plant, warehouse and administration facility has been purchased together with a range of state of the art extrusion and moulding machinery. We are ideally placed near the M4 and M5 motorway networks that provides ease of transport not only to our UK clients but also to links worldwide.

Who We Are

MARTIN BETTYMANAGING DIRECTOR

Bisson Ltd is spearheaded by Martin Betty, Managing Director who has over 50 years of manufacturing experience and sales and marketing expertise. Martin is the original founder of Bisson and is the driving force behind the success of the business and particularly enjoys the long standing working relationships he has built and developed with key clients over the past 19 years. Martin is a sports enthusiast and enjoys playing and watching test cricket and riding his road bike. Martin is never happier than when surrounded by his family especially his grandchildren and loves to travel and explore new places, his favourite destination is France.

CLAIRE BETTYACCOUNT DIRECTOR

Claire works alongside Martin in his role as Managing Director, to support the day to day running of the business and focus on the development of the company’s new and existing client portfolio. Claire has over 20 years sales and account management experience in the corporate arena and combines this with her flair for languages as she speaks fluent French, Spanish and Italian. Claire loves to spend time with her children, long distance running and walking her dog in the open countryside. Claire takes great enjoyment from cooking and hosting dinner parties with friends and family, attending the opera and spending time in her favourite country which is Italy.

STEVE DAVISGENERAL MANAGER

Steve joined Bisson Ltd in 2011 from a commercial finance background. Steve is responsible for the day to day operational management of the business, overseeing the supply chain, the warehouse, accounts and administration functions. Steve is an ardent cricketer and golfer, and loves to play and watch both sports. Steve takes great enjoyment from time outdoors walking his dog, spending quality time with his lovely family and sharing a drink with his friends at his local pub.

STEVE PHILLIPSPRODUCTION MANAGER – EXTRUSION

Steve joined us in July 2023 and is responsible for the production of our air sampling pipe to meet our client’s bespoke requirements.
Steve brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience as his career in extrusion has spanned over 34 years.
Steve loves to walk in the open countryside and spend time with his children and grand children, he is a keen football supporter, his favourite team being Leeds United. Steve also enjoys travelling and his destination of choice is Morocco. Steve loves to read, especially historical fiction and enjoys listening to rock music and attending concerts.

CARL STEVENSONPRODUCTION MANAGER

Carl joined the company in 2015 from an established career in the healthcare industry. Carl is responsible for the production of Bisson’s air sampling pipe and fittings to meet client’s bespoke specifications. Carl is a keen cook and loves to spend time in his kitchen creating exciting new dishes. Carl also relishes the opportunity to spend time outdoors walking in nature and thoroughly enjoys travelling to European destinations.

BRENDAN TUDORWAREHOUSE MANAGER

Brendan recently joined Bisson from an extensive and varied Warehouse Management background of 20+ years and is responsible for the safe and efficient running of our production and packing Warehouse and supporting the business as it continues to grow. When he’s not here ensuring that the warehouse team are able to fulfil all of our clients requirements, Brendan is usually found juggling a number of kids around, getting stuck into gardening and DIY projects and sometimes out on his road bike if it’s fine weather!

KARA COLESCLIENT SALES CO-ORDINATOR

Kara recently joined Bisson to work alongside Steve Davis to look after our UK and worldwide client base. Kara brings with her over 15 years customer service and warehouse experience specifically from the fire industry. Kara enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family, and indulging in her passion for dining out. Kara is a keen Formula 1 enthusiast and loves to travel to new and exciting destinations with her husband, her favourite destination is Corfu.

EMMA SCOGINGEXPORT ADMINISTRATOR

Emma has worked in the transport sector for over 4 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the export market. Emma joined Bisson to provide administrative support to the busy export sales department to ensure the smooth running of the transportation and export of our product range to our valued international clients. In her spare time Emma enjoys walking her dog and spending time with her family. Emma is a keen vegetable gardener and loves to grow her own produce in her allotment.

PAULA JOHNSONACCOUNTS CO-ORDINATOR

Paula has been at Bisson Ltd since its inception in 2002 and is responsible for the financial accounting side of the business working closely together with Steve. Paula has enjoyed a career in financial administration for various public sector organisations. Paula loves to spend time outdoors and is an avid gardener with a speciality in growing seasonal fruit and vegetables. Paula enjoys spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and loves to visit the coasts of Cornwall and Devon in her caravan.

JEAN PAUL LEGOTBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, FRANCE

Jean Paul has been with Bisson Ltd since 2012, and is responsible for the sales and account management of our clients based in France and all other French speaking countries. Jean Paul has enjoyed a long and successful career in the leadership and management of sales and marketing teams and the execution of sales and marketing strategy in the agricultural food industry, which spans over 30 years. Jean Paul is true to his French heritage and is an accomplished French wine aficionado, combined with his love of cooking, spending time with his family and enjoying the beautiful French countryside whilst taking long cycle rides.
